What's the Popular Scam?

The WV Attorney General's Office warns us that the Social Security Scam is making its way around West Virginia. 

These scammers may give a warning that your Social Security Number has been compromised in illegal activity in (some state). They may have the last 4 digits of your Social but do NOT confirm whether it's right or not, and do NOT offer the other 5 digits.  They may threaten you with arrest.  Don't fall for it!

Call the Social Security Administration's Inspector General at 1 800 269-0271 (or submit a report online at https://oig.ssa.gov) and your state's Attorney General's office.
