What can I expect from an in home service agency?
Posted: November 20, 2014, 11:45AMIn home (non-medical) services include a range of assistance options. Your loved one may need someone to be with them for basic supervision and to make sure they are safe. Perhaps they also need some light environmental services to assist with meal preparation or light housekeeping (dust, vacuum, laundry, taking care of the living area) or they may need assistance with bathing, dressing and grooming. Some services offer transportation to appointments or for shopping or they may run errands such as grocery shopping or picking up prescriptions. In home (non-medical) service agencies are generally NOT able to dispense medications although they can remind the care receiver to take their medications. There are often other means of support for those care receivers who need assistance with medication administration.
