MEDICARE FRAUD PREVENTION WEEK
Posted: June 7, 2022, 4:13PMMedicare enrollment in the United States is over 64 million beneficiaries. This includes those beneficiaries under 65 who qualify for Medicare based on disability.
Medicare Fraud Prevention Week calls attention to fraud, abuse, and errors in Medicare which accounts for over $60 BILLION in losses.
The loss may be due to a scammer calling impersonating your doctor's office. It may be the scammer who is trying to get your personal information for a brace or other medical equipment. A fraudulent attempt to get your insurance numbers.
The loss may be a matter of billing. Make sure to check your explanation of benefits statements! Honest mistakes occur but repeated erroneous billing may be a red flag.
