Holiday Scams
Posted: November 25, 2024, 1:20PMJust a note of caution about holiday scams. There are many ways that scammers try to con you.
Fake ads may promise great deals on holiday gifts but is the site real? If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
In addition to fake ads, there are ads for counterfeit products. They may look like the real thing in the picture, but when they arrive at your door, they are not the authentic product.
Charity scams are prevalent during the holidays. People tend to be more generous and scammers count on that. They also count on us being a little less cautious about charity origins. Donate to charities that you know. Ask for information through snail mail. Don't be pressured to donate.
Did you get a text that your package is delayed? Don't click on the link. Call the carrier directly but don't use the number in text.
Be cautious!
