Caring for Yourself as You are Caring for Others

Posted: October 26, 2020, 12:44PM

When we're taking care of someone, it's difficult to think of caring for ourselves.  Here are some ideas to help you do a little self-care.

Laugh about something every day.  Keep a humor file - something you can go to for a quick giggle.

Talk with someone every day.  It's important to maintain relationships and conversation.  Try a virtual meeting!

Avoid tension-filled movies at night.  If the news stresses you out, don't watch the nightly news.

Watch caffeine intake.

Take a break each day for time for you.  Ten minutes can help.

Check out relaxation techniques.  Search on your favorite web browser or You Tube.

Listen to your favorite music.

Treat yourself to something at least once a month:  a new book, a brownie or cupcake, an ice cream sundae, a new blouse.

KNOW and NO your limits.  Knowing when to say "NO" is a strength not a weakness.
