Are You Aware of Medicare Savings Programs?
Posted: February 21, 2025, 8:24AMThere are four programs to assist eligible Medicare beneficiaries with costs that Medicare does not pay. Premiums, deductibles, and coinsurance costs may be benefits as well as prescription drug program costs. Benefits depend on the program for which you are eligible.
QMB: Income limits are $1325 / individual and $1783 / couple and asset limits of $9660 / individual and $14,470 / couple. Covers Part A deductible, Part A coinsurance, Part B deductible, Part B coinsurance, Part B monthly premium
SLMB: Income limits are $1585 / individual and $2135 / couple and asset limits of $9660 / individual and $14,470 / couple. Covers Part B monthly premium
QI-1: Income limits are $1781 / individual and $2400 / couple and asset limits of $9660 / individual and $14,470 / couple: Covers Part B monthly preimium.
Part D Extra Help: Income limits are $1976 / individual and $2664 / couple and asset limits of $17,600 / individual and $35,130 / couple. Lowers the cost of your Part D prescriptions and plan premium.
